Community Hospital said steel has arrived for the construction of the Medical Center of Trinity, a facility expected to replace Community Hospital in two years.
Construction work using the steel is expected to be complete in about 18 weeks. The steel cost $10 million, a release said.
The $195 million Medical Center of Trinity will be a 236-bed, private room facility at the corner of State Road 54 and Little Road. It’s expected to open in late 2010.
The first stage of parking lot construction and the first floor concrete slab have been completed, while a turn lane on State Road 54 is nearing completion, the release said.
Construction of a medical office building adjacent to the hospital is expected to start in the first quarter of 2009.
Community Hospital in New Port Richey and the new Medical Center of Trinity are part of HCA’s West Florida division.
