When It Comes To Resumes, Everyone Has An Opinion

Ask five recruiters what they like to see on a resume, you get a variety of answers.  But some of the critical items are consistent.  As a minimum, we want to see:

  • Correct and up to date contact information.
  • Job history beginning with the most recent or current job going backwards to the beginning of your career.
  • What you’ve done in each position to demonstrate your skills and experience.
  • Applicable education and certifications.

My peer Patty wrote about the importance of spell check and typos in resumes in a previous post,   That is definitely another consistent factor.  Correct spelling and use of proper grammar are always important.

So when I came across this article on resume mistakes  I knew it was something I had to share.  More great tips on what not to put on your resume.
